World Press Freedom Day marked in Nepal

The World Press Freedom Day was observed in Nepal on Thursday to celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom.The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) organised a morning rally in capital Kathmandu to mark the day.
Media personnel, senior journalists and representatives of FNJ from Kathmandu and across the country took part in the rally.
FNJ President Shiva Gaunle addressed the assembly and urged the government to uphold press freedom and freedom of expression in the new constitution.
He also stressed on the need to promulgate the new constitution by the May 27 deadline to safeguard the democratic achievements.
